Hello Blog reader(s)
I am Sean Harte. I have been doing what some people would call Youth Work type stuff off and on for the last 15 or so years. I have been employed in local authority projects, worked for and volunteered with local charities and been lucky enough to be involved with some International work in Macedonia and Hungary with The British Council as well as working for Connexions Tees Valley almost at its inception.
I have a BA (hons) in Community and Youth Work Studies from the University of Durham and an MA in Managing Community Practice from the same institution. I have had a few book reviews published in Youth & Policy and was very happy to be asked by the wonderful Tony Jeff's to contribute to the revised edition of Youth Work Practice (Palgrave Macmillan, 2010).
I have done a little freelance training and development with schools, local youth work organisations and Connexions, have done some part-time lecturing for Teesside University and I now find myself employed as lecturer on the Access to Youth Work Programme (NOCN) at Middlesbrough's College. As part of my desire to keep the lessons I teach up to date and relevant I have decide to try to get a little more active online and I thought `why not share what I find on a blog in case others are interested`. So I am ... And here it is. Please feel free to add your own comments and contribute to any discussions. Everyone is welcome!
Sean
